What Is Salabhasana or Locust pose?

Salabhasan is a backbend yoga posture and It is a form of Vinyasa yoga. Salabhasana. it offers health benefits for both beginner or advance as well as advanced practitioners. 
Salabhasana is a Sanskrit word that meaning "locust" or Grasshopper" and Asana means " Posture"

Salabhasana = Salabh+Asana
       Salabh = locust or grasshopper
       Asana  = Posture

Salabhasana yoga is beneficial in lower back pain. and improv the spine strengths. and If you are suffering from hip injuries and knee injuries may you avoid this asana.

Salabhasana or Locust pose step by step-
  • First of all lie on your yoga mat or ground (chest side) and your chin touching the floor.
  • Put your hands under the thighs side by side.
  • Now keep putting your hands under your thighs and inhale or lift your legs and chin as high as possible.
  • Hold This Position approx 5 to 6 seconds in the starting time and increase it up to 30 seconds.
  • Exhale and come down both chin or legs slowly and relax 

What are the Benefits of Salabhasana or Locust Pose?

The Asana is good for the muscles and nerves of the shoulder and neck. This asana helps to strengthen the abdominal walls.
